Happy Anniversary to all of our former June Brides!!!!When hosting an event, we almost always need a great cake. So for this week's Entertaining segment, and in honor of our 2008 June Brides, a Public Service Announcement; a company you may want to steer clear of. Enjoy today's repost, from our June 14th, 2008 wedding that we will NEVER forget.
Brides beware, if you are looking for a wedding cake designer, Your Wedding Cake Store, isn't the store for you. Our last wedding, Your Wedding Cake Store was to deliver 28 cakes (to be used as centerpieces) along with the wedding cake. Delivery was scheduled for between 3 and 4pm. The cakes did not arrive until 8:23pm. An hour before the festivities were over. And when they arrived, they only came with half an order. They lied and said they other car was right behind them. And when we finished unloading (special thanks to the Kroger Co. catering staff), they had to admit that the remainder of the centerpiece cakes were still 20 more minutes behind.
Unbelievable! Unacceptable! A bride's vision ruined. Unforgivable! Not only did they not bother to offer an excuse, they didn't even call to say they were "running behind on deliveries" until 6pm; our ceremony start time. And then they didn't answer a single phone, office or cell, until they called to say they were on their way at 7:50pm. A true disappointment considering this isn't a side hustle cake baker but a supposed "reputable & dependable" business of Memphis and Olive Branch, MS. Trust them with one of your most important wedding elements at your own risk!
